Individual support is vital to Crossroads Care Cheshire West and Wirral. There are a number of ways
to donate to Crossroads Care:
Leaving a gift in your will
Every year 2 million people become carers. It can happen to anyone of any age, gender or background.
They could be looking after a relative or friend who cannot manage without their help because of illness,
disability or frailty.
By remembering Crossroads Care in your will you can help ensure that the growing number of carers
can find the support and services they need.
Making a will is far less complicated and expensive than you might think, and it is perhaps one of the
most important things you will ever do. It is the only way to be sure that your family, friends and favourite
charities are provided for according to your wishes after your death.
Leaving a legacy
It is best to use the services of a solicitor when making a will. A solicitor will be able to advise you on
legal aspects, the different ways in which you can make sure all your named beneficiaries are provided
for - including leaving a donation to a charity - as well as ensuring that your will is correctly drawn up in
accordance with the law.
How to include Crossroads Care in your will
There are several different ways to include a donation to Crossroads Care in your will:
Pecuniary donation: by leaving a specific sum of money, which can be index linked to preserve its value.
Specific donation: by deciding to leave part or all of your estate to Crossroads Care.
Residual donation: leaving a percentage of the residue of your estate after all dependants have
been provided for.*
Donations to charity are exempt from tax, so anything you leave to Crossroads Care is free of
Inheritance Tax and we will receive the full amount. Ask your solicitor about the best ways to use
your will to reduce tax.
* This type of donation is usually the most beneficial to the charity receiving the donation.
