CROQUET

(Crossroads Quality Evaluation Tool)

Along with the other Crossroads Care Schemes in England & Wales we are affiliated to the national
umbrella organization Crossroads Care Association, based in Rugby. The Association provides
insurance, sets standards, issues policies & procedures we adhere to, & provides support services.
They also lobby Government on behalf of Carers issues and liaise with other Carer support
organizations such as Carers
UK.

The Crossroads Quality Evaluation Tool (CROQUET) whish is based on PQASSO (Practical Quality Assessment System - created for and by th Voluntary sector).This the standard set by our national body,
the Crossroads Care Association, to ensure all Schemes deliver a high quality service to Carers and the
people they care for.  CROQUET has three levels, examining Schemes on Governance, Finance, People,
Service and Quality issues and is designed to ensure Schemes demonstrate that they reach an agreed
standard in all aspects of service provision and work within a Carer centered culture. In 2007 we where
proud to have achieved all three levels of the CROQUET Standards. In order to achieve each level, the
Scheme was visited by two independent Auditors who examined our organisational documents, and
interviewed our Trustees, Staff, Care Support Workers and Carers receiving our service.
 All our staff & volunteers have a commitment to developing quality by the implementation of CROQUET, which is designed to support continuous development across our Crossroads Scheme.
This has been achieved by:

  • Establishing a recognised set of quality criteria that can be used by the staff, the Committee of Trustees, service users, Carers, and other stakeholders;
  • providing a framework to help Crossroads continually assess & review its own performance against agreed standards with the Association, grounded in experience and its own professional care sector guidelines; this has enabled Crossroads Cambridge City to demonstrate that it has reached agreed standards in all aspects of service provision & that it has been done in an ethical & cost effective way;
  • Enabling Crossroads to focus upon improving quality by providing a structure to support our services. Generating action plans and setting targets to reach set plans.
  • Informing service users and Carers so they know what quality of service they should expect, and to judge if standards are met by combining quality monitoring & evaluation systems to meet contract requirements.
  • providing a common language & frame of reference for our sponsors;
  • Supporting the development of a preventative approach, rather than adopting a corrective one;
  • having in place procedures that involve all staff & volunteers to promote a structured and inclusive development of our Scheme;
  • developing a positive learning and carer-centred culture.

ANNUAL EVALUATION

Our scheme is inspected by the Care Quality Commission who assess whether services are meeting the needs of people who use them. Please click here to view our CSCI reports, also as members of CROSSROADS CARE Association we adhere to our internal system of quality assurance, which is called CROQUET which is based on PQASSO.  We are audited by the CROSSROADS CARE Association and have attained our Level 3 status.

In addition to these every year, we send a Quality of Service Questionnaire to all the Carers receiving our service. This is an opportunity for Carers to tell us what they think of the service we provide and how we can improve the service for the future to ensure we maintain our high standards. Carers help in this survey is very much appreciated and is confidential.

All comments, complaints and suggestions are always welcome as we aim to provide a high quality and responsive service recognising that it can take time to establish a good working relationship. We are happy to talk with you about any difficulties or issues that you may have about our service at any time.
