How you can help

Children & young people’s service

Crossroads care has been looking after children and young people with disabilities and additional needs for over 30 years.

All children deserve the opportunity to achieve their full potential and have the same rights and needs as others, and should be treated primarily as children first. This includes valuing each child as an individual, giving children choices and encouraging them to communicate.

We believe in the provision of a quality service to support children, young people and their families.  We seek actively to meet their needs and respect their views. All our staff are trained in Safeguarding Children & Young People, Personal Care, First Aid and many other courses that meet specific needs of the children.

We have a team of dedicated trained carer support workers who can support in the following way:

  • Respite care so the carer can have a break
  • Practical and emotional support for the child
  • Interact with your child in a fun and safe way
  • Support positive lifestyles & create positive outcomes for the child
  • Help a parent to be Healthy, Stay Safe and enjoy parenthood
  • Support 16-18 year olds to find voluntary work if appropriate
  • Take young people out into the community and encourage them to participate in a range of activities
  • We have a number of clubs and groups for children and young people with disabilities
