“I referred my mum to Crossroads a few months ago for a Bathing service when she deteriorated after a fall, this knocked her confidence and she did not feel safe getting in and out of the bath.
She has severe arthritis in her knees which makes it difficult to walk, also being 90 yrs old means her mobility is limited. I was worried she needed extra support with personal care. I work full time and found it very worrying to leave her to get bathed in the morning.
Mum enjoys her bath and it helps to ease her aches and pains, she always seems brighter after the call and I know she looks forward to the visits.
We are very isolated where we live so the call is also social interaction for her, she was reluctant to have calls at first but the carer has but her at ease and I feel happy that in the future I may need more help and this has laid the foundations.”
